From Mrs. Woodring
It is hard to believe that we have 15 days left of this school year! This week our students have all put in effort in showing how much they have learned this year. Our iReady testing window was this week, and students are making up the assessment next week or completing it if they need more time. So far the growth of so many of our students, is incredible! An indicator that is built into the assessment is a growth target and an even loftier goal is meeting or surpassing their stretch growth. Many students have achieved this and some have reached their stretch growth as well. We are so proud of the effort and hard work. Above is a photo of our first graders who are enjoying a popsicle by our school garden, as a reward for their hard work. Work hard, play hard!
Thank you to our PTO and Ms. Alongi's committee for spoiling our staff. Lunches and treats this week were delicious and so appreciated. The student's jokes, flowers, and kind messages brightened some cloudy days earlier this week.
This coming Wednesday we will be celebrating National School Nurse Day. I would like to thank our wonderful school nurses, Ms. Christy for her kindness and dedication to all of us!
Tonight the weather looks perfect for the school first family bonfire at LeRoy Oaks, thank you to Mr. Izenstark for heading up the planning for this and for other members of our PTO for all the work. Please share photos of this great event, I am unable to attend.

MEDICAL FORMS AND MEDICATION
Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe there are only a few weeks of school left. This is a reminder that you will need to come to school to pick up your child's medication by the last day of school which is Friday, May 26th. Medications that are not picked up at the end of the year will be disposed of according to the D303 policy. This policy also does not allow medication to remain in the health office over the summer for reuse in the fall. Medication must be picked up by a parent or adult designee with the parent’s permission.
Looking ahead to the 2023-2024 school year, if your child requires medication or any action plans, your child will need new physician orders and action plans for the school year. Ideally have the physician date the forms following the last day of school. Forms can be found under health services on the D303 site or linked directly here:
Students entering into kindergarten or 2nd grade will need a dental examination and form completed within 18 months of May 15th, 2024. Current 2nd grade students require a dental examination and form completed within 18 months of May 15th, 2023. A vision examination and form is also required for incoming kindergarten students as well as a physical examination and form.
These forms can be submitted to the main office or emailed to the school nurse at christy.mathern@d303.org. Please reach out if you have any questions. The health office direct line is 331-228-2504.
If there are any changes to your child’s current health history including medical diagnoses and/or regular medication please update the health service team! Thank you!
Thank you!

Family Contact Info - Please verify for your family!
This week’s first snow is a great reminder to make sure the contact information you’ve provided the District is up-to-date. We want to ensure you’re getting timely alerts on inclement weather operations and other important notifications. Please take a moment to do the following:
View Notification Preferences/Enable Text Messages
District 303 will send notifications to families through the ParentLink system by text message, phone call and email based on your settings. Parents/guardians can view and edit their contact settings through the Home Access Center.
To receive timely emergency communications, we strongly encourage families to enable text notifications. For most people, this is the fastest way to receive and view important messages. Here’s how:
- From the HAC main menu, select the “registration” tab to view your contact settings
- Select the “edit” button to change your contact settings
- To enable text message notifications, enter your cell phone number in the Cell/Text field
- Select the “save” button
