Need to Know Information
Student Drop Off: The student drop-off line for ALL summer school students will be at the Crane High School entrance. See the aerial map below for directions. Students should be dropped off by 7:40 AM!
Student Pick Up: The parent pick-up line for Elementary students will be in the back of the building at the Library Media Center Entrance just like it is during the school year for kindergarten through 6th grade students. See the aerial map below for directions.
Class Placement for Summer School: Students will find out their teacher Tuesday morning when they arrive to school. Parents of kindergarten students, if you would like to walk your child in, please park in the High School parking lot and enter through the High School Entrance. Kindergarten students will be grouped together and divided into two groups once we see how they all interact together.
All Students Eat Breakfast and Lunch for FREE!: Students can bring their lunch from home if they would like, but every student will take a tray for breakfast and lunch.
Summer School Discipline Policy: Students will be coming home with the Summer School Discipline Policy on Tuesday. This is to inform everyone of the steps we will take concerning undesirable behavior during summer school. If your child receives three "strikes" he/she will not be able to return for the remainder of the summer session. Students who receive "strikes" will not be able to attend the field trips during the summer session.
Permission Slips for Crane Swimming Pool: Permission slips for the two field trips we will take to the Crane Swimming Pool will be sent home Friday. These forms must be turned in by at least Thursday, June 8.
Crane City Pool Field Trip: We will be going to the Crane City Pool on Friday, June 9 and Friday, June 16, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, prior to it opening to the public. If your child cannot swim, we do suggest sending your child with a lifejacket. Your child should wear his or her swimsuit under his/her clothes on pool days to school. Each student should also bring a towel, sunscreen and a complete change of clothes to change into after we return from the pool. We will return to school and eat lunch at school that day.
Boys & Girls Club: Students going into 1st grade and up can be enrolled for the Boys & Girls Club for afterschool care until 6:00 PM each day (Tuesdays through Fridays). If your child is enrolled in Boys & Girls Club for the summer session will be bussed to First Baptist Church where BGC is being held. You will need to pick your child up from the church after school.
The cost for the summer school session is $15 per week per child. They also will have full-day care the last week in June and the month of July for $30 per week per child. Contact Chasity at the Club with any questions at 417-294-2468.
