Building Leaders of Tomorrow
From the Principal's Pen....
Patriot Nation,
It's been a great week back from Thanksgiving Break and our Polar Express Read-A-Thon is off to a wonderful start! We have logged thousands of minutes and are moving toward our fundraising goals as well. The money that is raised goes directly back to our campus, funding programs, instructional materials, and other things. We are so proud of our Reader Leaders and can't wait to celebrate their accomplishments soon!
Also, don't forget next week, our Polar Express Reading Night is on Thursday, December 9th. We will start with a Winter Choir Concert at 5:00 then immediately following, Polar Express stations will be open. Please see information below. More important dates are coming up so mark your calendars!
Thanks again for all of the support and have a great weekend!
Brett Shelby

December STEM Challenge
The Gingerbread House display challenge is here! Students may create a gingerbread house using a brown paper sack. Students write their name, grade, and teacher on the bottom of the sack and bring it to the library to be displayed.
Supplies:
Construction paper, markers or crayons, scissors, glue, stickers or foam shapes, glitter, macaroni, or any decorative items to glue on. NO CANDY or food items (Eeek! We don’t want ants!), please.
Instructions:
Fill the bottom of the paper bag with newspaper, fold the top, and staple closed. Cut two pieces of construction paper, glue to each side to make the roof. Draw or glue on paper windows and doors, then decorate with markers, stickers, glitter, etc. HAVE FUN!
Be creative and decorate with things you already have at home. Please see the link below for more details from our website.

Annual Title I Information from Meeting
Leader in Me At Home Connection
People who put first things first focus on the important, not just the urgent, act on priorities, plan weekly and act daily. You are putting first things first when you organize your time around the most important things and eliminate the unimportant.
Ways to practice ‘Put First Things First’ at home:Talk with your family about your most important jobs or responsibilities, such as doing homework, making the bed, or taking out the garbage.
Do your chores before being asked.
Do the hardest part of your homework first.
Think of something you’ve been putting off for a long time, like cleaning up your room or pumping up the flat tire on your bike. Go do it right now!
