Cory Greenwood
We are excited to welcome Cory Greenwood to the MSHS to speak to our students on Thursday, October 27. Cory brings an inspiring message and focuses on tough subjects - including mental health, bullying and suicide prevention. AVID @ MSHS
What is AVID? AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID means many things to our MSHS: 1) Many students from grades 9-12 are enrolled in an AVID elective as we offer AVID I, II, III & College Prep for our seniors. 2) AVID is implemented for our MS students to help them develop organizational and student agency skills. 3) AVID helps our teachers with engagement by offering strategies to keep students moving and engaged. 4) We are developing a peer mentoring program in which older students will be trained as AVID tutors to work with younger students needing help. These are just a couple ways in which AVID impacts the educational environment at the MSHS. We continue to grow this atmosphere for our students.

Early Release/No School
SCHEDULE UPDATE!! There is an early (12:35) release Friday, Oct. 7 so staff can complete an emergency response training. There is NO SCHOOL Thursday, Oct. 20-Friday, Oct. 21 as this is the annual Minnesota Education Association break.
