Our spring 2022 Family-School Relationship Survey open through tomorrow (Wednesday, May 18)

- School safety
- School climate
- Family engagement
- Barriers to engagement
The survey is open through tomorrow. We hope you'll take a moment to participate! We greatly appreciate your time and input!
We need your help!
Dear BSD families and community members,
Our teachers, classified staff, and administrators have worked diligently this year to keep our schools open in the transition back to in-person learning, as we understand the need to provide a safe, stable, learning environment for all of our students.
A significant concern for us right now is a substitute teacher shortage. We are taking every step to ensure there’s a qualified adult in the classroom when teachers are absent, including using other staff (principals, district administrators, and qualified classified staff) who have other essential responsibilities during the typical school day, when we do not have enough teachers. Our last resort has been, and will continue to be, pivoting to remote learning when we do not have enough staff to cover our classes. This is where you come in - we need your help!
We are looking for interested individuals who have a Bachelor’s Degree to partner with us and help out our students and staff. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a substitute teacher, please see the Guest Teachers page on our website and scroll down to the emergency substitute teacher section for details.
At this time, we can reimburse application fees and waive the costs associated with the fingerprinting/background check. We have increased the daily pay rate for substitutes to $185 per 7.5 hour day. (Wednesdays and half-days are prorated). We are streamlining the application process to get substitutes in the classroom quickly. Time is of the essence. Please contact our HR Recruitment Specialist at 360-473-1026 or 360-473-1024 if you are ready to move forward with the application process.
Thank you for considering this opportunity and/or sharing it with friends and colleagues. This year has been a series of new challenges. We will get through this together because of our supportive community, and we appreciate your consideration in applying and helping spread the word.
In partnership,
Aaron Leavell, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Registration opens soon for our summer learning programs!
Thank you to all of our "be Bremerton" volunteers!
be Bremerton: A Day of Service is a districtwide event to show the Bremerton community and the city of Bremerton our thanks for their tremendous support of the Bremerton School District and our students. More than 100 students, family members, staff and community members participated in be Bremerton 2022 last Saturday. Volunteers met at Evergreen Rotary Park before heading downtown to beautify Bremerton by picking up trash, pulling weeds and sweeping sidewalks. Thank you to all of our volunteers, and to Seaside Church for providing lunch! Learn more at www.BremertonSchools.org/BeBremerton.
