From the Principal
Spartans,
This coming week many of our students will participate in AP testing. I want to encourage and congratulate our students who have been preparing for and are participating in this challenge, especially given the changing circumstances. Thank you to those who helped us provide well wishes to our faculty and staff for Teacher Appreciation Week.

I know distance learning has been a challenge for us as teachers/staff, students, parents. Our mission speaks to ‘working together to promote’ each other individually. Let’s be sure to work on that, no matter how far apart we are.

World Languages and Cultures
The WLC department is excited to announce that over 40 seniors have qualified for the Seal of Biliteracy. The languages include French, Spanish, Arabic, German, Latin, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, and Russian.
What is the Seal of Biliteracy?
The Seal of Biliteracy is an award made by a state department of education or local district to recognize a student who has attained proficiency in English and one or more other world languages by high school graduation. The Seal serves to certify attainment of biliteracy for students, employers and institutions of higher education. It is a statement of accomplishment that helps to signal evidence of a student’s readiness for career and college, and for engagement as a global citizen.
Social Studies
The Social Studies Department is excited to announce the addition of Dani Cook, a former Broad Run graduate, to our teaching team this fall! We are thrilled to have her! Dani also coaches Golf and Softball here at Broad Run.
Also, in social study news, we will offering a new elective. Myron Curtis will be teaching African History! We are looking forward to offering this engaging course to students at BR.
