School Update
Thank you to our PTO for hosting Baffling Bill, the magician just before our winter break weekend. We had a great turnout for some family fun! We are looking forward to welcoming our families back to school this Thursday night for our March is Reading Month kick-off. We will be hosting guest readers from throughout our community, the book fair will be wrapping up and there will be some fun games with prizes for our little ones. Our PCS field hockey team will be selling pizza slices and water as a fundraiser for their program in the cafeteria. I hope that you will be able to join us!
We are rescheduling our March 2 PTO meeting due to the evening event for March is Reading Month. Our new date is Wednesday, March 8 at 4:15. All are welcome and free childcare is available.
We had a great time revealing our One District One Book, "The Adventures of a South Pole Pig", by Chris Kurtz last Friday! Students were treated with a virtual assembly hosted by a sled dog expert in Minnesota at the end of the day to go along with the theme of the book. We are all having fun answering daily trivia questions about chapters read each day. Thank you for participating in this fun reading activity with your children.
Please remember that Friday, March 24 is a half day of school with dismissal at 12:26pm. This is the end of the third marking period with teacher Records Day in the afternoon. Our spring break begins at the end of the day on March 24. We will be back in school on Monday, April 3. Please mark your calendar for Friday, April 7 as there is NO SCHOOL due to Good Friday.
Thank you for letting me know how I might best support you and your children at school.
Take care,
Yvonne

How does it work? Between the hours of 4:30-6:00 pm, arrive at the transportation garage, 2020 E M-36, check in with a volunteer and pull into the open bay. Volunteers load up your vehicle with food and off you go! It’s as easy as that! Please contact Sandy Buczek at 810.225.5607 to be added to the monthly robocall list, if you are not already receiving the phone calls before each distribution.
