As APS continues to work through school closures and the impact of COVID-19 in our community, Superintendent Dr. Meria J. Carstarphen is leading the District in innovative ways to actively engage students in virtual learning via daily school announcements via Twitter and storytime read-a-loud via Facebook Live. Each day from noon to 1 p.m. on Facebook Live, Dr. Carstarphen will read-aloud one picture book to elementary school students and families. She will also read a passage and lead a discussion about books appropriate for middle school and high school readers. Be sure to follow APS on Twitter @apsupdate for daily morning announcements and on Facebook for our daily storytime!
As always, the health and safety of our students, families, and staff are the District's top priorities. Remember to practice social distancing, and follow the CDC guidance to not gather in crowds larger than 50 people. Monday-Friday at 11 am, join Fulton County Library as they present Streaming Storytime on Facebook Live.
Storytime with Josh Gad
Josh Gad (Olaf from Frozen movies) wanted to help out with reading as well. Every day at 7:30 pm, Josh is reading a book on his Twitter account @joshgad. You can even go back and listen to him read his other stories that he posted this week!
