Superintendent Information
Dear Jaguar Families,
We had a great start last week with lots of smiling faces, happy students, and unlike last year working toilets!
Our student enrollment numbers are from last year at this same time . I attribute this to our caring and exceptional staff.
For your information, below you will find electronic versions of both our Elementary and Secondary Parent/Student handbooks. The handbooks contain a variety of school procedures and helpful parent and student information.
As I mentioned in previous newsletters, Easton School will be installing new playground equipment.
I have met with two different playground design/installation companies for site visits and planning meetings. I hope to share their draft playground designs in next week's newsletter. Due to shipping times and our Easton weather, my guess is playground installation will be in summer of 2024.
Our high school sports are now in full swing with volleyball and football having home games. The football team had a very strong showing versus NW Christian last week at Thorp for our first game. I also want to thank the crowd that was on hand to support the team on a Friday evening. Please note our "Home" football games have been moved to Thorp HS. In terms of Volleyball, the team starts their season on the road at Soap Lake on Tuesday Sept 12th.
Home games for the week include:
Volleyball: Thurs. Sept.14 vs. Pateros at 6:00 pm
Football: Sat. Sept. 16th vs. Lake Quinault at 1:00 pm at Thorp HS.
I have included both the volleyball and football season schedule below. Please come on out and support the our Jags!
Also please put School Picture Day on your calendars. Picture Day will be Monday Sept. 18th.

Note: Friday "Early Releases" begin on Friday October 6th. Dismissal time on Fridays in September will be our normal 3:05 pm.
I'm happy to announce that Easton School has now been assigned a School Resource Officer(SRO) from Kittitas County Sheriff's Department as part of a large grant they received. Deputy Jennifer Margheim will be working with Thorp, Cle Elum and Easton School Districts. She was introduced at our Welcome Back Assembly and already has made great connections with our staff and students. Her main role as SRO is to assist the school in maintaining a safe school environment for students and staff including emergency response planning and preparation.
Deputy Margheim has 14+ years of experience in law enforcement having served as a Patrol Officer and Detective with the Ellensburg Police Department until moving over to Kittitas County Sheriff
As her Sheriff's Department vehicle will be parked by the school when she is on campus, there is no need for concern if you see it when you drive by! If there is a safety issue on or near the campus, the communication to families will be done ASAP via School Messenger, emails, phone calls and on the website.
