Week 4 of Marking Period 1

Dear Puentes Middle School Community,


Grades will be posted for the 3 week period on Skyward. Please have your child reach out to their teachers for assistance if they are falling behind.


Next week, we will begin 4 weeks testing. It is critical that your child bring their laptop and charger so they can complete the test. Our teachers only have a couple of laptops for emergencies. Again, we emphasize the importance of bringing laptops every day and ensure that you get them fixed when needed.


Monday/Tuesday: Science/Reading Language Arts 4 weeks testing

Thursday/Friday: Math/ Social Studies 4 weeks testing


If you child is absent, remember to SEND A NOTE or EMAIL us with a reason. You do not need a doctor's note. A simple handwritten note or email will allow us to code the absence as EXCUSED. This will NOT GO TOWARD LOC. Always send a note to avoid Loss of Credit.

It is expected that students bring their fully charged laptop to school every day. We will be working with our new scholars this week to get laptops distributed.

Parents, please use the My School Bucks app to add money to your child's lunch account. You can also pay outstanding balances by creating an account using your child's Student ID number.


Also, if you haven't already done so, please fill out the meal application. Students have to pay for their meals unless they qualify for free or reduced lunch. Bobcat Dress Code

Reminders:

1. Leggings are not allowed.

2. Only the CURRENT YEAR (23-24) Spirit Shirt is allowed with Jeans on Fridays.

Campus Safety

A reminder that any item with WHEELS (skateboard, scooter, bike) needs to be WALKED across the crosswalks.

Staff Parking

Staff has parking passes to utilize our parking lots. Students can only be dropped off using the horseshoe.

Breakfast

We no longer have breakfast in the classroom. Students can go to the cafeteria until 8:00 am to get grab and go FREE breakfast.

Visitor Parking

We have the front parking directly in front of the campus for visitors. In the mornings, we do have modified procedures for the safety of our Bobcats & this area of the parking lot closes at 7:00 am

Morning Drop Off

Our building opens at 7:15. First bell at 7:45. Classes begin at 8:00 am. Tardy students will be signed in by a parent.
