Grade Level/Department Announcements
- This week, in our PreK classrooms, we have been doing alot of fun stuff with Halloween. We have read “scary” stories and sang “scary” songs. We danced like “scary” creatures. We carved a pumpkin and turned it into a Jack o’lantern. We pulled all the insides out and talked about how it felt and smelt. We had a Halloween party on Friday and dressed up in costumes. This week was also, Red Ribbon Week, and we celebrated by wearing neon clothes, sports shirts, pajamas, and of course the costumes.
- ***Parents this is a reminder that if your child has a fever, cough with or without a runny nose, he or she will be required to stay home (10 days) until they have been cleared by a doctor and/or a negative COVID test. We know that this is very frustrating, but we have to keep everyone safe.
- *Please check book bags daily and remove all old papers. If something has to be returned to the teacher, please do so promptly.
- ***Have a Great fun and Safe weekend!!!!!!
First Grade:
- The second six weeks sight word assessment will be during the week of November 8th. We will be looking for 100% correct.
- Please work hard to help your child read the following words quickly without having to sound them out: put, some, there, too, when, your, am, as, away, by, dad, each, going, good, has, help, home, house, how, made.
Second Grade:
- Please continue to send an extra mask and water bottle with students. Students who are in Tiger Troupe should arrive at 7:30 am so they will not miss practice. Continue to read AR books and complete reading logs.
Resource:
Tiger Troupe will be video recording on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings (November 2nd and 3rd). Please have your child at school by 7:30 for our practice and recording. If your student has the required white long-sleeve shirt, they can wear it. If white shirts are not yet purchased, the student can wear any school uniform shirt for the recording.
Tiger Troupe - white long-sleeve shirts will be required for the December 7, 2021 PTA night performance and for the following day’s school performance. (The initial letter of congratulations, in early October, had the attire requirements for Tiger Troupe performances.)
Exceptional Children:
- Thank you to all of the parents who came to the pumpkin patch to help chaperone the students. We really appreciated all of your help. Next week the students will be learning about the Letter Land Character Noisy Nick, all of the different ways to represent the number 8, and the color orange.
