National Child Id Program
Our district distributed an in-home child identification kit to students K-8 on behalf of the State of Texas. Please understand that there is no obligation to fill out the kit, but it will allow you to have a set of fingerprints and DNA for your child in case of an emergency that you can turn over to law enforcement.
These kits are to be STORED AT HOME and only to be given to law enforcement in case of an emergency.
The district is always looking for ways to protect our students from harm or assist in their safety. You can expect the kit to come home with your students in late October.
Please make use of this gift, fill it out and store it in a safe place at home.
Honoring our Veterans!
Veterans Day!
Mason PTO will be creating a wall in honor of all the brave men and women related to our students who have provided military service for our country. We are excited to start this tradition, and we need your help.
Please add your information for your Veteran and the students related to them to THIS DOCUMENT (click hyperlink). Please fill out all the fields. In addition, please send in a photo of your Veteran to your child’s teacher. (no larger than 5 x 7 please). It does not have to be on photo paper, photos printed on computer paper will work just fine. Please make sure that the BACK of the picture has your child’s name and veteran’s name so we can match everyone up correctly. Please note that photos will not be returned.
If you have Veterans you would like to honor, but do not have photos, we can list their names. Just add them to the document but denote “no photo” so we will know it is a name only.
Please have all information added to the google doc and photos into the teacher or emailed to presidentmasonpto@gmail.com no later than Monday, November 7th.
Proposition A and B Elections
The ballot for this November’s federal, state, and local elections will include two propositions related to Leander ISD.
Proposition A is an Attendance Credit Election. Due to an increase in the level of property values per student in Leander ISD, the state is removing about $31.2 million from our district through the process known as recapture, or Robin Hood. If LISD voters approve Proposition A, the district will make its required recapture payment to the state. If Proposition A fails, the state will look for other ways to remove revenue from LISD. For example, the state could force some taxpayers in our district to start paying taxes to a different district instead of LISD.
Proposition B is a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election. By approving Proposition B, voters would ratify the tax rate set by the LISD Board of Trustees — a rate that is 6.24 cents lower than last year’s rate. Due to rising property values, the average tax payment would be about $38 per month higher than the average payment last year under Proposition B. Passage of Proposition B would generate an additional $32 million for academics in LISD, including teacher pay and the continuity of programs.
For much more information about these propositions, please visit LeanderISD.org/elections. You can also sign up for informational text-message updates by texting @LISDMoney to 81010. You can also text-message your questions to 512-399-0068.

Mason has a food program for families! For interested families, weekend meal kits are sent home each Friday with students in bags the student can put in their backpacks. In addition, at-school snacks may also be provided. If you believe your student/family would benefit from the program, please fill out the form here. You can select weekend meal kits, snacks, or both. Please complete just one form for the family if you have multiple students at Mason, but please list all of their names on the form. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or concerns! Amanda.King@leanderisd.org
Attendance Reminders
Our Official Attendance Time is 8:15. Please note, this is an adjustment in time from previous years.
Absences should be reported in one of two ways:

2) Send a note (or doctor's note) when your student returns.
While we appreciate a phone call notification, a hard copy is still required to properly code the attendance record.
