Mini Miners Preschool Post
August 25, 2022
Welcome!
The first days of school were filled with excitement, exploring our school, meeting the nurse and making new friends. Although we had a few tears, as soon as our team worked their magic, the nerves and tears disappeared making way for the joy of learning to begin.
Please make sure to read all communication, especially in the newsletters and from your child's teachers. Share with anyone who is an important part in the care of your child.
I am always here for anything your family might need. Please feel free to talk to any of our incredible team with anything we can do for you.
Warm regards,
Miss. Heather

Signature For Dropping Your Child Off and Picking Your Child Up
Many or our governing rules and regulations are created specifically with the safety of young children as well as developmentally appropriate best practices for our young students.
An adult signature is required when you bring your child to school, sign-in, and when a child is taken out of school, sign-out.
As part of several safety measures this provides a written documentation of not only the children who are here, but most importantly who picked up your child. Thank you for making sure anyone who is on your approved list to pick-up and drop-off is aware of this requirement.
Thank you!
Tuition
Our school district is working with a different credit card/debit card company that will allow us to collect tuition payments. It is not in place at the moment, however I will give you all the details as soon as I have more information.
There will be NO late fees for September.
Also, our tuition rates are calculated per day, multiplied by the total number of days the district offers school and then divided by 9 months of the school year. This method creates a monthly consistent rate for families which is helpful for you to budget. You never pay for the scheduled days off of school our program schedules, for example winter break.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Student Drop Off & Pick Up
Classroom doors will open right at their scheduled start times. (8:00 or 12:40)
- Teachers have a lot to prepare for the day and can not take children earlier, please don't ask them.
Picking up your child:
- Barely 3's ends at 10:30
- Morning classes end at 11:20
- Full Day and Afternoon Classes
Pick up times can begin as early as 3:45, especially if you have older children that need to be picked up. We understand this will help with meeting our families needs.
Please let me know if you have any questions. 😊
Nutrition At Preschool!
CDEC (Colorado Department of Early Childhood)
7.702.63 Food and Nutrition
Centers must not provide sugar sweetened beverages to children. These are beverages that have been sweetened with various forms of sugars that add calories and include, but are not limited to: soda, fruitades, fruit drinks, flavored milks, and sports and energy drinks.
- (Please do NOT send juice or Gatorade, etc)
In centers that do not regularly provide a meal, if a child brings a meal from home that does not appear to meet current USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program meal pattern requirements, the center must have foods available to offer as a supplement to that meal.
Snacks
Part of our curriculum is teaching nutrition while utilizing the tremendous amount of learning that happens when students help prepare their own snacks. Our teachers pride themselves in introducing new fun foods, while teaching basic kitchen skills.
Please DO Not pack snacks for your child.
Bringing snacks from home presents disruptions as other students may want what is brought from home, or if the snacks are not nutritious.
Let us know if there are any dietary needs, allergies or preferences so that we can accommodate every child.
Due to grants, your generous donations and our budget, we have plenty of food choices for children. No child will be hungary!
Please talk to me if you would like more information or if you have questions. Thank you for helping us keep to fresh, healthy snacks.👍
Full-Day ONLY - Lunches
Hot & Cold Lunch Process
Please let mark if your child is eating hot lunch or cold lunch each day.
- Cold lunch:
- Put your child's lunch box in the bin provided. They will be stored outside the classroom and not touched until lunch time.
- Pack plenty of HEALTHY food for lunch. A variety of food groups is prefered. Please choose only healthy non sugary drinks and desserts.
- In the event there are a lot of processed or sugar foods, we'll provide your child with other choices.
- We do not have the ability to heat up food.
- Please pack ice packs to keep it cold.
- Hot lunch:
- Please make sure to either mark hot lunch or let your child's teacher know if they are having hot lunch.
- Create a "My School Bucks" account for your child. An easy program to pay for your child's lunch.
Celebrations & Special Events
If your family does not celebrate birthdays or other events, please let your child's teacher know so that we can respect your families beliefs or culture.
Participation:
- If you would like to participate in a planned event, please talk to your child's teacher.
- Calling all cultures! If you would like to share a cultural event, special food/meal/snack, or something else that is special to your family, please connect with me. We'd love to share as a school!!
Please only bring pre-packaged foods or whole fruits and vegetables. Let us know if you would like ideas for acceptable, healthy snacks.
We ID!
We are also required to have written permission from you indicating who may pick up your child. Please call and let us know if someone who is not on your child’s list will be picking them up.
Make sure they bring their ID.
Please see Michelle Roll, to update your written permission of who can pick up your child.
Parent Orientation
I'm also sending the two links that didn't work explaining two of our main focal teaching points for all students. Focusing on Self Regulation and Executive Functioning is one of the best ways we set all children up for success, especially getting them ready for kindergarten.
