Principal's Message
Dear Families and Caregivers,
As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Friday October 13th, as it is a K-12 grading day and teachers will be hard at work getting prepared for conferences. We are excited to see you next week at Fall Conferences, October 16-19! We value your partnership and want you to understand how your student is progressing and ways you can support their growth. This is an important opportunity for us to meet; we only have two conferences a year. We hope you sign up.
Visit PTCFast.com and follow the prompts to register with your child’s teacher—or multiple students can be done at the same time. If you have questions or concerns about availability or accessibility, please reach out to your student’s teacher via Remind.
Sincerely,
Kelly

Attendance
We appreciate your desire to keep our community safe when your student is sick and we know that you sometimes have questions about whether to send your student to school or not. Please see the Oregon Department of Education guidance on this, Too Sick for School document. Feel free to call if you have questions about whether your student should attend school on a day that he or she isn’t feeling well.
In any instance, it is important to communicate with our office on days when your student will be absent or late, so that we can get them excused for the day. Please email eccles-attendance@canby.k12.or.us or call the office at (503) 263-7120, if you know your student will be out.
Conferences will take place the week of October 16-19, and you can get signed up now. Visit PTCFast.com and follow the prompts to register with your child’s teacher—or multiple students can be done at the same time. If you have questions or concerns about availability or accessibility, please reach out to your student’s teacher via Remind.
Pictures should be coming home with your student sometime this week. Retake day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1st.

Volunteers
Looking to volunteer in your student’s classroom or for upcoming field trips and events? If you haven't done so already, a volunteer application must be submitted through the Canby School District.
Here’s what you need to know:
- All volunteer time must be pre-arranged with the teacher and/or specialist that you are assisting; including field trips.
- All new volunteers must be registered and pass a background check in order to volunteer for any classroom, field trip, or activity on-site.
- All volunteers must sign in and out upon entry and exit of the school building.
We look forward to having you join us!
Health Curriculum
In June 2023, the Canby School District board approved the adoption of a new health curriculum. You will be getting a letter from your child's teacher about the Great Body Shop. Click here to learn more about Health instruction.
Here are visual instructions for families who would like to access the digital curriculum in the Great Body Shop.
A Message from Nutrition Services
Your children may qualify for free or for reduced-price meals! If you plan to have your child eat school-provided breakfast or lunch, please fill out a Meal Application online.
- If you have qualified in the past, you need to re-qualify as soon as possible. There is not a 'grace' period this year.
For additional information click here and to fill out an application click here. Oregon is working hard to assist families by expanding the income guidelines to determine eligibility. Many families who don't think they will qualify, do! Check it out!
