HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Dear Glen Acres Families,


Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing the students via ZOOM this week. Next Monday, January 11th, we will resume our Hybrid schedule. I have attached the January calendars below. It is important to note that due to our January 18th day off from school in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Hybrid A students will come to school on Wednesday, January 20th.

Winter Coat Drive- January 11th-January 22

One of our students at East High School will be orchestrating a winter coat drive so that people in our local community who are unable to afford winter clothing can stay warm this winter! All of the donations will be given to Goodwill. We will have donation boxes set up in the front lobby of Glen Acres Elementary from January 11th through January 22nd.

ABSENCE NOTES:

The district will accept parent notes via email for students who are absent from school. An original signature is not required. The email address must be registered in Power School and will be verified by the attendance secretary when the note is received. Parents can still choose to submit notes in paper form within five school days of the absence. The email needs to be sent directly to the building attendance secretary (tweaver2@wcasd.net), not through Schoology or Seesaw. Phone calls will not be accepted as documentation of a student’s absence. This will go into effect starting December 14, 2020 and will remain in place until otherwise notified.
