WOODGROVE HIGH SCHOOL
November 1, 2024
From the Principal's Desk...
Greetings, Woodgrove Wolverines! I hope this newsletter finds everyone well and enjoying our beautiful fall foliage. As it always does, our first quarter of the year sped by and is now complete - we begin our second quarter on Wednesday, November 6. First quarter report cards will be available to view on ParentVue on Thursday, November 7, at 4 PM. Please reach out to your son’s or daughter’s teachers and counselor if you have any questions. If you would like a hard copy of your son’s or daughter’s report card, please contact our Counseling Office at 540-751-2607.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Pruzina and all our talented students who contributed to the cast and crew of The Scarlet Letter. The performance and sets were outstanding, vividly bringing to life Hester Prynne, Pearl, Arthur Dimmesdale, Roger Chillingworth, and the many other characters from the 1650 Massachusetts Bay Colony on Woodgrove’s stage, in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s timeless classic.
Our sincere thanks also to all the students, coaches, and sponsors that have made our fall athletic season so successful. As we enter November, we are in the midst of conference and region championships, and we wish our Wolverine teams and individuals all the best as they compete in these tournaments and championships.
Our winter VHSL activities begin on Monday, November 11. If your daughter or son is participating in a VHSL school-sponsored winter activity, please submit all required school and VHSL forms so they are ready to go on that first day.
American Education Week is November 18 – 22. I hope everyone can take time during this week to celebrate with us the marvelous experiences that take place at Woodgrove every day. Please consider sending a note of thanks to a teacher, bus driver, or other staff member thanking them for what they do for your child and the Woodgrove community.
School safety is at the forefront of our minds, and it is of the utmost importance to all of us. As a reminder, please have your identification ready when you enter the school. All visitors must check in at the main office before entering any other portion of the school.
Please remember to vote on Tuesday, November 5. That day is a student holiday as well.
Many thanks for your continued support. May you have a safe and enjoyable November and may you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving as well!
