It's hard to believe that October is here! Fall and much excitement are in the air! We are so proud of our students' progress! We look forward to a fun and busy month that includes learning about Fall, pumpkins, Fire Safety, a field trip to the Corn Maze, and much more!

**It's time for Parent/Teacher conferences. Please see the sign up link below and choose a day/time that works for you. It's important that I meet with everyone. I can't wait to discuss your child's progress with you!

**Your child may wear his/her costume on Tuesday (Halloween). Please no masks/props and nothing scary.

**November 1st (Tuesday) is Pajama Day! Students may have a comfy day after a night of Trick-or-Treating but please make sure students still wear tennis shoes.

**Report Cards go home on Wednesday. Please sign and return the yellow envelope.

**If you signed up to bring items for our Halloween Snack on Tuesday, please remember to send those items by 1:30 on Tuesday. Here is the sign up if you need a reminder of what you're bringing:

**Keep up the great work with the homework routine! Great job on baggie books and Weekly Words Recognition!

**Don't forget to send a healthy snack and water bottle each day with your child.

The price of ice cream in the cafeteria is rising to $1.25. Your child may purchase ice cream on Fridays during lunch in the school cafeteria. Please send $1.25 in a labeled envelope with your child's name on it and please write "ice-cream" on it. Please put the envelope/money in your child's green folder. We won't see it if it's in their book-bag. Thanks so much!

I can tell the sounds for the letters of the alphabet.

I can name the beginning sound heard in words.

I can tell about books and print.

I can tell the life cycle of a pumpkin.

**Don't forget to have your child read their baggie book at least 3 times with/to you. Don't forget to sign the reading log each night. No books will be sent home on Fridays.

**Help your child read/recognize our Weekly High Frequency Words. We will send home words each week for recognition only. Students will need to practice recognizing/reading their Weekly Words each night. High-Frequency word recognition is very important-90% of texts students read are these "high-frequency words". We will have a recognition "test" on Fridays to check their progress.
