Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you have had a fun and enjoyable summer with your families! Lincoln’s staff is excited to welcome our students back to school. Students’ first day of school is Monday, August 21, 2023. This will be a full day of school with breakfast and lunch being served. Students should arrive on campus at 8:00 a.m. In order for your student(s) to start school, please ensure you have completed the registration process and residency verification by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16th, 2023. The safety of our students and staff is one of Lincoln’s Core Beliefs. We have implemented several safety measures to ensure that everyone is safe. More information about safety measures will be included in the Principal’s welcome letter. Students will be required to carry clear backpacks. Lincoln will be supplying all students with a clear backpack on their first day of school.

We will continue to have early dismissal on Wednesdays beginning September 6, 2023, students will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. Early dismissals provide opportunities for teachers to participate in professional development activities to facilitate teacher learning, growth and exposure to innovative instructional practices and technological advances. It also provides teachers time for grade level and vertical articulation around student data and lesson planning. Please review the school calendar in order to make necessary arrangements for students to be picked up at 11:50 a.m. Please regularly monitor your email, text messages, phone messages, and social media platforms for updates regarding school happenings.

Join me in welcoming our two new Assistant Principals, Mrs. Monica Reynolds, and Mr. Daniel Lawrence. Mrs. Reynolds is our former 5th grade teacher. We are proud to grow our own. We also have several new staff members joining the Lincoln family. Mrs. Bako will introduce all new staff members in her upcoming newsletter.

There are a lot of new and exciting things happening at Lincoln School and I look forward to meeting many of you at our Back to School Bash on August 12, 2023, and throughout the year at the many community, parent and family events that will be held.
