February 2021

Greetings from the Superintendent's Office

I hope everyone had a wonderful January and a great start to this new year. February is shaping up to be a very busy month at Clarkton! We have lots of activities planned for students throughout the month and we hope that everyone will be able to come out and support our kids!

The month will kick off with Homecoming week. We would like to invite all alumni to come back to Clarkton to participate in the Homecoming festivities. Students will have the opportunity to show their school spirit throughout the week as they dress up for Spirit Week.

We will also be celebrating our 100th day of school! This is always an exciting time for our elementary students as they look back on the year so far and participate in a variety of activities focused on the number 100. Be on the lookout for information to come home about our 100th day of school celebration!

Homecoming 2021

It's time once again to celebrate our Reindeer traditions! We would like to invite all alumni to the Homecoming game this year on February 5, 2021. The Reindeer will be taking on the Rebels of Southland. The junior varsity game is set to begin at 6:00. Following this game, the coronation ceremony will begin to crown the 2021 Homecoming Queen. During halftime of the varsity game, the high school cheerleaders will perform a dance routine. We hope everyone can join us!

Elementary Basketball

Elementary travelling basketball began in January. Students in grades 4-6 signed up for the teams and have been playing students from around our area. The "A" team is currently 2-5 but according to Coach Curtis Coleman, they have played some very close games that could have gone either way. The "B" team is currently 3-1 with their only loss being to Bernie. Both teams have several games and tournaments left to be played in the month of February. These elementary Reindeer would love your support as they wrap up their season!

Valentine's Day

This year, Valentine's Day falls on a Sunday. We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on the Friday before (February 12). Elementary students will have their Valentine's parties on this day. Due to COVID, we will not be accepting deliveries from parents for Valentine's Day. However, we will accept flower shop deliveries and the Booster Club is providing options for delivery. An order form should have gone home with your student last week. If you would like to have something delivered to your child, you will either need to place an order at a local flower shop or through the Booster Club. If you need an additional order form for the Booster Club delivery, please follow the link below.

Elementary Intramurals

It is time once again to begin planning for elementary intramurals. Information will be distributed at the home high school basketball games. In order for this program to be successful, we will need parents to volunteer to coach and help in the concession stand. Please look for the parent letter which will be sent home with all the details!
