Back to School Newletter
2023-2024 School Year
A Message from Administration
It is our pleasure to welcome everyone back to CES this September. All signs point to another constructive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff are planning and preparing for your child(ren).
Our school hours are 8:00am to 2:20pm. These hours are for all students K-4th grade. Our UPK student hours are 8:00am to 2:00pm. Please visit our district website https://www.corinthcsd.org/ for important information regarding our academic and social emotional curriculum, as well as school supply lists.
Mrs. Young will no longer be serving as our building principal. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors and appreciate all that she has done for our school community. We are fortunate to have found an interim administrator to help lead CES for the immediate future. Mr. Patrick Pomerville served as an elementary principal in the Queensbury Union Free School District for 15 years and recently retired as the superintedent of Waterford-Halfmoon CSD.
It is a privilege to be part of a community where parents, faculty, staff, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support both academic and social emotional growth.
Sincerely,
Patrick Pomerville & Ashley Connor

School Supply Drop Off
Date: Wednesday, September 6th
Time: 2:30pm-3:00pm
We ask that families plan on one adult attending to keep the numbers of visitors low. Staff will be available throughout the school to assist you in finding your new classroom. Most of our teachers will be in their rooms to meet students and collect school supplies. Families can drop in anytime between 2:30-3:00.
Parent & Student Handbook
Please read the handbook carefully. It is filled with useful information that will answer many questions you have throughout the school year. A computer use contract will go home with your child on the first day of school. Please read, sign, and return the contract to school as soon as possible.

Reporting Attendance
Please call the school at 518-654-2960 if your child is going to be absent.
Please notify the attendance clerk of the reason and expected length of absence. Our voicemail will record messages before or after school hours. A written note is required immediately upon the student’s return explaining the reason for the absence. When a child is absent for a long period of time (2 weeks or longer) due to illness, he/she may qualify for tutoring. A doctor’s note stating the diagnosed illness and the length of confinement at home must be submitted to the principal, along with a written parental request for tutoring.
Student Drop Off & Pick Up Routines
All students (UPK-4th grade) will be allowed to enter the building starting at 8:00am. Walkers should plan to arrive at school no earlier than 7:55am for the 8:00am entry. Tardy is 8:15am.
Students being dropped off by vehicle should plan to start lining up in their cars at 7:55am so we are able to keep the line of cars on school property. Students should remain in their cars and not exit cars until told to do so by a staff member. This process will begin at 8:00am.
At the end of the day, parents picking up students by vehicle should park in the lot closest to the track and wait for your child(ren) on the sidewalk. Students will not be allowed to walk into the parking lot unattended. Kindergarten through fourth grade students being picked up by vehicle will be dismissed at 2:20pm.
UPK students will be dismissed at 2:00pm.
Walkers will exit the building at 2:25pm.
Save the Dates
Wednesday, September 20th: Curriculum Night 2nd-4th
District calendars should be arriving by mail in late September. Many of the dates on the calendar are also posted on our district website.
Immunizations & Physicals
See the chart below for immunization guidelines from NYS DOH.
https://www.health.ny.gov/publications/2370_2024.pdf
Physicals are required for the students entering UPK, K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11th grades.
Student Health Services
Our district has partnered with Saratoga Hospital to offer a Student Health Services initiative. An advanced practice provider will be available in our district to offer FREE medical care for all students. Some of their services will include: care for minor injuries and illnesses; mental health consultation; acute care prescription medication; and sports physicals. These professionals will share their time between the Elementary School and the Oak Street campus.
In order for students to take advantage of this great opportunity, parents/guardians must sign and return the consent form to their building principal. If you would like to learn more about this service, please follow this link to a recording of our presentation from December 6th, 2022. The Google Slide presentation is also available here. Should you have questions regarding this service, please call 518-654-9005 or 518-654-2960 Extension, 3446.
