A note from the Dryden Director of Bands...
I am incredibly excited and honored to share that your very own Dryden Bands are performing the national anthem for the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Saturday, April 8th for Opening Weekend! The junior high and high school bands will be combined to play on the field before the start of the game versus the Boston Red Sox. We have plenty of tickets at the generous price of only $26 and we would be so happy to see as many of our Cardinal Community as possible supporting our students! We must sell at least 100 tickets to make this happen so feel free to share this link to your friends and family. Follow the link below to purchase your tickets and come cheer us on in this special event!

Mrs. Bobbi-Jo Torok
Mrs. Torok is the K-12 Art teacher at Dryden Elementary School and Dryden Junior/Senior High School. She has attended Mott Community College, the University of Michigan Flint, and Eastern University.
She enjoys arts of all kinds, spending time with her animals, and going on long walks with her animals. Mrs. Torok's favorite color is blue, and her favorite animal is an orange Siberian tiger, but she loves all animals. She has 19 pets, most of which were strays or rescues. She loves working in all mediums of art and learning new things. She started to create art to make others happy, and she continues to be inspired by art, based on the joy it brings to others.
Mrs. Torok chose Dryden because right when she walked through the door, it felt like home, and she knew it was where she was meant to be. Her favorite thing about Dryden is how friendly and kind everyone is. She said that the students at Dryden are the best! Her words of motivation for students are to be kind to others whenever possible and to share your smile with everyone. She stated, “Always do your best and treat people how you want to be treated”.
Students Say...

An anonymous student said that their favorite thing about Mrs. Torok is how she is very creative and sweet and is always helpful and understanding to everyone. They said the most valuable thing that Mrs. Torok taught them is that if you don’t like something, then you can always change it.
An anonymous student stated that their favorite thing about Mrs. Torok is “Mrs. Torok is a great person who helps and is kind to many people. There are many things that I like about Mrs. Torok, so many that I don't even know where to start. To start off, Mrs. Torok is a very kind person. She helps people with anything that they may need and that to me is a great quality that someone can have. Students aren't the only people she is kind to, though, she is kind to all of her coworkers and even animals. Another thing that I like about Mrs. Torok is the way she teaches. Mrs. Torok is a great teacher and is one of my favorites by far. Mrs. Torok has taught me many things throughout my years at Dryden. The way she teaches makes it easy to understand and easy to keep track of where you are in the class. Next, I like that Mrs. Torok never excludes anyone. Mrs. Torok includes everyone in everything, making her a better person, which adds to why she is one of my favorite teachers. In conclusion, Mrs. Torok is a great person in general and is kind to everyone. There are many qualities that I like about Mrs. Torok, making it hard for me to pick a favorite”. They stated that their favorite memories with Mrs. Torok are “[...] whenever she brings her animals to school. Mrs. Torok's pets are very adorable and well-behaved. Being the kind person Mrs. Torok is, she lets everyone pet and give attention to her pets. One of the many times she has done this may be one of my favorite memories that I have with her”. They stated that the most important thing that Mrs. Torok has taught them “[...] that I hold dear to me, is the ability to treat others with the kindness and respect that they deserve. This is truly the most valuable thing that I have learned from Mrs. Torok, and it is something that I will never forget”.

Her favorite memory with Mrs. Torok was when she would be the substitute teacher for a class, and she would allow students to hold her sugar gliders and other animals. She said that Mrs. Torok is a very positive and encouraging person.
An anonymous student said that their favorite thing about Mrs. Torok is how amazing, kind, and talkative she is. They said that she has taught them a lot about art. The most valuable lesson they learned from Mrs. Torok is that even if something doesn’t come out exactly how you wanted, don’t be afraid to restart, because if you quit, you won’t know how close you are to your finish line.
An anonymous student stated that their favorite thing about Mrs. Torok is “[how] she is very encouraging and very helpful. I love her teaching style and her classes are very fun. I love that she basically lets you do whatever you want, and helps you with anything that you need”. The most valuable thing that they learned from Mrs. Torok is to just go with the flow, and if you try your hardest, you’ll succeed.
Thank you to Mrs. Torok and to all of the students who gave their feedback!
