TOPS 3rd Grade Weekly Newsletter

Each Friday you will receive a grade level newsletter with important information needed to plan your upcoming week. Since you have one more week of orientation, you are receiving a special edition of the newsletter crafted specifically for students who started with us on February 6th.

You will see Class Connect (CC) sessions on your daily plan for course sessions outside of orientation like music and PE. You are not required to attend those sessions this week. However, you are free to drop in and see what class is like.

Welcome to third grade math! Next week we will be covering classroom expectations, as well as learning to use our Blackboard tools in the orientation Class Connect session on Tuesday, February 12th at 10:00 am. Please make sure you bring a pencil, a journal (can be a composition book or a spiral), and a working headset with a microphone to class. I can’t wait to see each of you!

Welcome to 3rd grade science! I am very excited to see you on Monday, February 11! Please come to class with a Science notebook and a pencil as we review the Scientific Method and some important items.

For the week of January 25:

-Complete Unit 7 Lessons 1-6

* If you score low on the lessons in unit 5 & 6, your score will not effect your grade but it will allow me to see what knowledge you have coming in.

Welcome to 3rd-grade social studies! This week you will see the first social studies lessons appear on your plan. You will be working on unit 5 The Nation Grows and Changes.

Welcome to 3rd grade Music! This week we will learn how to navigate the music program, Music Studio. Check your email for a PDF file from me about Music Studio (it will also be available in the file share in the OLS). There are also some directions and helpful hints in the Music Reference Guide book you received in the mail with your materials.

Every week you will check the grade level newsletter to see which Music Studio lessons to complete. Just open Unit 1, Lesson 1 in the OLS and click the link to take you to Music Studio! (I marked everything else as skipped in the OLS because there isn't any content in those lessons. You can just ignore the skipped ones.)

Welcome to 3rd grade!!! I am very excited to begin our classes. We have a fun year ahead of us full of activities, projects and much, much more. This week you will continue with orientation sessions. We will practice using the BBC tools and navigate through the OLS.
