Responsive Classroom Corner
This week we have been reviewing expectations and rules of our classroom.
Logical consequences are a key practice in the Responsive Classroom approach to discipline. A logical consequence is a non-punitive response to misbehavior that allows me to set clear limits and students to fix and learn from their mistakes while maintaining their dignity. Depending on the child and the situation, I might combine a logical consequence with other strategies, or they might use more than one logical consequence. There are three types of logical consequences.
You break it, you fix it
If you misuse it, you lose it (loss of privilege)
No self control, you take a break (positive time out)
If you ever have any questions about Responsive Classroom please let me know.
Snack Time
Please remember that we have added a snack time in the afternoons. Students will eat their snacks while they are working. You are welcome to send a small snack for your child each day (crackers, granola bar, chips).
DO NOT SEND CANDY OR SODA!
