Dear LP Families,

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the first weekly newsletter of the year! For those new to LP, I send out a newsletter every Friday with important news and celebrations from the week. Communication is very important to us so this is a great way to make sure you have the information you need. Make sure to give it a glance weekly to stay up-to-date!

The first few days of school have been awesome! We are learning routines, procedures, and expectations while in school. Our students are visibly excited to be back and I am hopeful this will be a year of tremendous growth and social/academic success. Keep scrolling to see some pictures from this week and important information/dates.

Meet & Greet!

My goal every year is to learn every students name. I have had the pleasure of pushing into classrooms to read the book, More than Peach and get to know our wonderful students! Best part of my day!

Our first Community Circle!

We gathered as an entire school this morning for our first Community Circle. Students continued to learn about showing HEART in school while also having some fun!

Pick-Up Reminder and Drop-off Routine

As we get acclimated to a new school year, please make sure that we have a note or phone call into the main office if you are picking up your child from school. If you will be picking up every day, there is a form you can fill out for the year. Please contact the main office (339-1370) for more information.

Also, if you are dropping off your child to school in the morning, we follow a one-way exit pattern for efficiency/safety purposes. You will drop your child off at the first set of double doors on the south side of the building. You will then continue driving around the back of the building, through the utility access road, and out central office to Norton St. On Monday, you will see signs and staff members to help facilitate this process. Please note, we cannot allow cars in the bus loop during morning drop-off or allow cars to turn around and exit back onto Pardee Rd. due to safety concerns.

Digital Survey!

The state requires that we send out a Digital Equity Survey each year. We do so through the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. This provides us with more accurate information about who has internet access at home and who does not.

The survey can be seen in the “Message Center” in the “Surveys” tab (Picture below!)

Important! Parent Portal Information

In order to access information like transportation, report cards, iPad protection fees, etc., you will need to create a parent portal account.

How do I create a Parent Portal Account?

Parent Portal Instructions:

In order to create a parent portal account, you will need to have an email address on file with the district before you begin. If you do not already have an email address on file with the district you will need to call the main office of your student's school from a phone number associated with you and your student in order for them to update your information. If you have neither an email address nor phone number on file with the district, you will need to visit your student's main office in person.

Visit www.eastiron.org, click on the Infinite Campus link, select Campus Parent and click the "Click here to request a parent portal activation key" link on the Campus Parent homepage. You may also choose to go directly to the URL below.

Enter the email address that you provided to the district in the box and click the "Submit" button.
You will receive an email with your activation key.
Click the "New User" link on the Campus Parent homepage (refer to step 1 if necessary).
Enter your activation key in the box and click the "Submit" button.
Enter your desired username, password, confirm your password and click the "Submit" button.

New Year, New PTA!

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are very excited to connect our school and family community together for several events throughout the year. We need you! Attached you will find a sign-up form to join the LP PTA. We need volunteers to run our events so we hope you will consider helping as you are able to.

Our first PTA meeting is set for September 20th @ 7:00pm. This will be an in-person meeting at LP. More details coming soon!
