New Student Orientation - Aug 11

SAVE THE DATE - New Student Orientation is Friday, August 11th, at 11AM. This will be a great opportunity for students and their families that are new to Rocky to explore the campus and to learn more about the great opportunities available for learning and connection during the 2023-24 school year. More detailed information will be communicated as we get closer to the date.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - August 16th

We are looking forward to having new students and returning students on our campus for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 16th. A more detailed schedule will be sent to families as we get closer to that date.

*Please note that students will have their pictures taken and will receive their IDs on the first day of school.

Athletics

Fall Sports Meetings will be in our Theater/Auditorium on the following dates:

August 9th @ 6PM - Football, Girls Soccer, and Boys Soccer
August 10th @ 6PM - Volleyball, Cross Country, Girls Rugby, Golf, and Swimming

Additional Information:

Any transfer students that are new to Rocky this year need to contact our Activities Director, Mr. Troy Rice (rice.troy@westada.org) to make sure athletic transfer paperwork is completed.

Dress Code Update

Planning on shopping for school clothes this Summer? Our district is in the process of reviewing our current district-wide student handbook, which will include revised language regarding our dress code policy.

It continues to be our goal for students to attend school every day and to take advantage of every opportunity offered in the classroom. It is not our intent to argue over or focus on "borderline" issues such as length of clothing or other aspects of the dress code. We ask that parents encourage students to be reasonable in their dress choice and we, as staff, will be reasonable in how we enforce the dress code.

To help students and their families prepare for the upcoming school year, please consider the following general guidelines (we will communicate more detailed information when the new handbook is approved):

Clothing should not contain any messages or images that are derogatory or that promote actions contrary to student behavior expectations
Clothing should cover all private areas of the body, including the mid-section
Shirts without sleeves, like blouses or tank tops, should have straps - one for each shoulder.

Power School & Transportation

Please make sure that student data is updated in order to see schedules and to receive timely communication from the school: Parent Sign In (westada.org)
If your student needs transportation, be sure to request that in PowerSchool when reviewing your student's information. For all busing questions please contact: West Ada Transportation Customer Service 208-350-4747

Bookkeeping Services

MySchoolFees will be available Mid-July for the following:

Activity Card - $ 44.50 (All students participating in sports must purchase an activity card)
Pay to Participate - $ 110.00 (All Students participating in sports must pay this fee - fall sports ONLY at this time)
Parking Permits - $15

In order to receive your Parking Permit, please fill out and print the Parking Permit form below. Bring BOTH the filled-out form and proof of purchase to the security office. https://www.westada.org/o/rmhs/page/student-parking-permits

Individual student course schedules will be available to view in late July/early August in Class Choice through the PowerSchool website. Schedules were created based on course selections, including alternates, that students chose in the Spring.
