Inspiring Progress Toward Learning Goals
Source: Edutopia
"By teaching students to monitor their thinking during learning by setting goals, applying strategies, reflecting, and adjusting, teachers will help them improve their learning ability."
Access the article via this link: https://www.edutopia.org/blog/inspiring-progress-toward-learning-goals-donna-wilson-marcus-conyers. In particular, pay attention to the "Goal Setting and the Brain" section of the article.
Action Item: As you administer instructional interventions to your students, help them set goals for those short term wins that lead to long term gains. Be prepared to share what this looks like in your classroom on Thursday during your instructional planning time.
**Every Friday will be "Goal Accomplishment Friday." Students will be publicly recognized and receive incentives for accomplishing academic goals. Check your email for more details.
