Worship Service November 5
“Generous Accountability” with Rev. Mary Gear
Unitarian Universalism is a covenantal faith, meaning that we don’t tell each other what to believe but we agree on how we will be together. We create covenants and hold each other accountable to them. In this month when we explore the spiritual theme of generosity, what does it mean to be generous in our accountability?
The worship service starts at 10:00 am.

Preparing for Take-Off

This short workshop is to help us responsibly leave behind enough information for the people we love the most when we die. They will be dealing with grief. The crucial information we provide will help them immensely in the work that must be done after we die. There is no limit to the number of people taking the workshop, but please use the sign up genius so I know how many are attending.
Partner Church Sunday is November 19
Partnerships between UU congregations and Unitarians overseas go back to 1921 following the devastation of churches during the First World War. Although Eastern European countries did not see as much destruction as had occurred on the Western Front, they were still scarred by the horrors of combat. The goals of promoting peace, unity, and the Unitarian heritage were major motivations for Gabriel Csiki, the Hungarian Unitarian minister, who founded the partner church program. Sadly, the global economic depression at the end of that decade ended these partnerships. Briefly resurrected after the Second World War, they were again interrupted by the official repression of Nicolae Ceaucescu, and the shadow of Cold War politics, and church activity was a target of repression. After the fall of the Ceaucescu regime in 1989, the idea was again resurrected with the advent of the UUA Partner Church Council. The mission of the UUPCC was to foster and support partner relationships between UU congregations and individuals in the United States and Canada. These partnerships benefited both partners by improving cultural understanding and supporting communities helping to develop individual, religious, educational, and economic opportunities. Interested? Reach out to Rev Sara for more information.
