Principal's Corner
Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you all have some fun things planned this weekend, even if you are just staying inside and watching scary movies. With one quarter under our belt, we begin the fast and furious slide into the Holiday season. We are officially fully staffed and have welcomed some new Raiders to the team recently that I have spotlighted below. Please be sure to greet and welcome this lovely new group of folks to the Raider family. We are thrilled to have our two annual subs on staff for the school year, which makes covering vacancies so much easier. All three of these lovely ladies are trained in covering remote and in-person learning so it's great to have these folks available each day to assist with coverage.
LTEF raised over 15K$ for our campus and they helped us deliver several certificates to grant recipients this week. We are thrilled for these dreams to become realities for our campus and these programs. Check out our grant recipients below!
I've highlighted some important events above coming up. I am excited our fabulous PTO is again providing a catered lunch next Wednesday (WHOOP!). So bring your appetites on Wednesday- I'll send out more details next week on locations. Don't forget to VOTE and enjoy the Halloween weekend. If anyone collects and wants to get rid of tootsie rolls, send them my way ;)
Enjoy the weekend and Go Raiders,
Amanda Prehn

Student Safety Reminders
Students should be wearing their badges each day. We consistently remind them in the mornings, during transitions and at lunch. Your help with this (especially during 1st period) is so helpful. Students are forgetting these at home or are not replacing them if they are broken. Replacement badges are available at the front desk, along with lanyards. Badges are 5$ and lanyards are 2$. Kristi Doering is handling replacing badges at the front desks and students can do this before or after school or during passing periods. We appreciate your help with reminding students to wear these each day!
LTEF TO HOST VIRTUAL TURKEY TROT 5K & 1M EVENT
The Lake Travis Education Foundation (LTEF) will host its 4th annual Hill Country Turkey Trot 5K virtually during Thanksgiving week.
"This year, with extra precautions around COVID-19, we are asking you to join our LTEF Hill Country Turkey Trot within your own community," said Katie Kauffman, LTEF Executive Director." We hope you can help us keep this dream alive and raise important funds for our schools while staying safe."
Run or walk anytime, anywhere November 22-28 and post your time on the LTEF race website to get your efforts recognized and opportunities to win prizes. The Hills Country Club 5K and one-mile courses will be available between 6:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning for self-directed participation. Participants are asked to practice personal hygiene and maintain social distancing. Race participants will receive a 2020 commemorative t-shirt featuring “Lucky” the Running Turkey, a custom race medal, a pedometer and swag from event sponsors.

NOTES FROM THE NURSE
Thank you for reaching out to Nurse Rhodes with any questions or concerns related to our students' health and wellness. She is doing a PHENOMENAL job in the clinic each day taking care of her patients, communicating with families and teachers regarding illnesses and returning to school protocols. She keeps us rocking and rolling with our COVID safety protocols!
I will email teachers when students are cleared to return to class, after Cheryl assesses them upon returning to campus. If you have not seen an email from me or notification from Cheryl directly, please direct students to the front office to be cleared before attending your class. Students are sometimes skipping that step and head straight to class before the in-person assessment so we appreciate you keeping a sharp eye on students who are returning.
