Dec 7-12: Monty’s Holiday Shop

The grass on the soccer field has grown and it is looking so green and lovely! However, it is too soon to start using it since it’s still newly grown. We will begin to use the soccer field after winter break.

Monte Vista began our recycling program last week. We kicked off the week with an assembly for all students where CV students, who had previously attended Monte Vista, presented information on composting and the importance of sorting our food waste to help our environment. During lunchtime, parent volunteers and our yard duty aides helped our students to sort their lunch waste by organic vs. landfill waste in their designated bins. Some of the fruits and vegetables were also taken to a compost bin by our Student Council members and mixed with soil and brown waste to prepare compost to be used for our Monty's Garden. Kudos to all of our students for their efforts in helping our environment and a big thank you to our parent volunteers, yard duty aides and student council for the support in making our first week of the program a very successful one!

The CV 10th Graders are putting on a movie night for elementary families on December 8th. Please see flyer for details.

MONTY'S HOLIDAY SHOP | DECEMBER 7 - 12

Monty’s Holiday Shop is a special tradition at Monte Vista. Our elves work all year to put this event together for our students to shop for holiday gifts for their family and friends. We are also excited to bring back the Holiday Shop's Photo Booth this year!

Monty’s Holiday Shop will be open this week starting Thursday, December 7 through Tuesday, December 12. We will also offer open shopping for all students on Tuesday, December 12 from 2:30 to 3:30.

PTA HOLIDAY SCRIP ORDER!

It's time for Monte Vista Scrip!! What is Scrip, you ask? It is basically the same as gift cards and gift certificates you would normally purchase and they work the same way. Monte Vista PTA benefits because we have purchased these gift cards/certificates at a discount and have offered them to you at face value. It is really easy!

GLENDALE COUNCIL PTA & GUSD STUDENT WELLNESS SERVICES TOY DRIVE

Glendale Council has partnered with GUSD’s Student Wellness Services for the Holiday Toy Drive. Please consider donating a new or unwrapped toy or books to bring the holiday joy to those families most in need by December 14th. Additionally, HERE is an Amazon Gift list that has made it super easy for folks to participate. When purchasing from the list, it gives the option to have it shipped directly to the GUSD SWS Department.
