Coyote Communications
Friday, March 27th
Hello Mirror Lake Families,
Starting next week, a systematic method to provide distance learning and direct teacher support will begin. We are excited to increase our engagement with students and to provide them access to academic content. The online learning systems (sometimes called 'platforms') have elements which allow teachers to communicate directly with students including announcement boards, open office hours and student email (which should cut down on the emails you have been inundated with). Math and Language Arts classes will be available first on Tuesday, March 31st. Additional classes will be launched on later dates including Science and Social Studies on April 6th; and electives on April 13th.
Prior to the start of these classes, parents and students will receive instructions on how to access the classes, log-in information, etc. This information will be sent directly by ASD shortly, but please also look for an email from me on Monday as a follow-up with site specific details. We will host orientation/tech support sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.
We have added a one stop shop 'button' on our MLMS website called the 'Student Portal'. This takes students to all the online programs they need. Take a peek by department and know that more items are coming. Check out the Science Department link--fun things are there!
A few updates are below and also enjoy a picture with our current educational take utilizing Dr. Suess. We are here for every Coyote. If your family or another MLMS family is struggling, our staff is here to help in anyway we can. Our counselors can help with resources for food, mental health, and/or navigating the new e-learning environment.
More to come on Monday
