Required Dental Exams
All Illinois children in Kindergarten and 2nd grade or any new student to the district (in 1st, 3rd or 4th grade) are required by the state to provide school with proof of a dental exam by May 15, 2021. Any dental exam completed between November 2019 and May 15, 2021 will fulfill the state's requirement. If a dental exam form is not received by May 15, 2021, the school may hold the child's report card until proof of a dental examination form is received or until the school receives proof (ex: appointment card) that a dental examination will take place within 60 days after May 15, 2021. Please call our school nurse with questions.

Streaming In For Live Instruction Guidelines
If in-person learning is selected, students must attend in-person unless there is an extenuating circumstance, which must be discussed with your child’s school for approval. Per approval, your child will be able to participate in remote learning. If the extenuating circumstances are not approved by your child’s school, your child runs the risk of receiving an unexcused absence and will not be able to participate remotely.
If you miss the bus, please try to make every effort possible to get your child to school. Also, please call the office to let us know. Typically, we need at least 24 hour notice in order for a child to live stream into a classroom.

FTC Updates
Box Tops
Do you have any clipped Box tops lying around your house? While Box Tops for Education is mostly online now, you may have a few stragglers to send our way. Please send these to school with your child by Wednesday, February 24. Email ftc@saltcreek48.org if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support.
SchoolStore
Did you know that SchoolStore is more than just the Family Book Store? There are over 300 merchants associated with SchoolStore. Before you make your everyday online purchases, go to schoolstore.com, find your school (Salt Creek Primary in Elmhurst, Stella May Swartz in Oakbrook Terrace or John E Albright Middle School in Villa Park), click on the merchant you want to shop, and make your purchase as you normally would. The schools will receive a percentage or specific dollar amount (indicated by merchant) of your purchase. It's that simple! You can shop DoorDash, Instacart, Walmart, Kohl's, Old Navy and more! Just be sure to start at schoolstore.com and find your school!
AmazonSmile
Attention District! If you signed up for AmazonSmile, you need to go back in to reinstate the donations to the charity. Amazon automatically turns it off in February and August...even if you just signed up for it last month. If you are not signed up for AmazonSmile, please read below. Thank you in advance for supporting FTC!
Do you shop at Amazon a lot? Did you know they offer a small percentage of eligible orders to be donated to a charity of your choice? FTC is a charity that can receive donations if account holders set it up do so! All you have to do is shop as you normally would. If any of the items are eligible for AmazonSmile donations, FTC will receive the money that is paid out a few times per year. Even better? All of the money in turn supports our schools and children. It's a win win!
To get started from the app, go to the main menu and tap on the 'settings' icon (≡). Go to the Programs & Features heading and tap \/ See all. Scroll down and tap on AmazonSmile. There you will be able to search for Salt Creek School District 48 Families Teachers Children in Villa Park, IL.
If you are using the website, do your shopping at smile.amazon.com. You will be prompted to add a charity.
It's that easy! It may seem that .5% of your purchase is not a lot, but you would be surprised to see how quickly it adds up when we all work together to support our great district. Thanks for helping!!
