Let’s celebrate a few of our Oak Springs Champions this week!
We are thrilled to announce that Kristal Clark, Pre-K 4, is our Teacher of the Year! She honors our students, works well with her colleagues, and is dedicated to the Oak Springs community. Congratulations, Ms. Clark!
Our Teacher of Promise represents educators who are in their first year of teaching. This year our T.O.P is Mr. Deragon! He is passionate about students and is a gifted musician and singer. His positivity is infectious!
This week we are celebrating our school counselor, Mrs. Lee! During National School Counseling Week, we reflect on and appreciate the many ways counselors contribute to the culture of the school community. Mrs. Lee is a dedicated Oak Springs Champion who has been a part of the school community for 12 years. She cares for others and is a model servant-leader on the campus. We appreciate you, Mrs. Lee!

Middle School Transition
We are circling back to Middle School transitions!
Thank you so much for your continued support as we navigate getting ready for middle school!
Your 5th grader has OPTIONS - A LOT of them! Austin ISD allows students to explore applying for and enrolling at middle schools of their choice! Choice schools include Bertha Sadler Means YWLA, Gus Garcia YMLA, and the various other magnet programs in our district. Enrollment for choice schools closes February 6th!

Central Texas Food Bank - Social Services
The Central Texas Food Bank’s social services team is continuing to assist clients with applying for SNAP (along with Medicaid, TANF, Healthy Texas Women, Medicare Savings Program, CHIP and CHIP Perinatal). We offer help with applications remotely and on-site. Our offices are located at 6500 Metropolis Drive, Austin, Texas 78744.
For the safety of our staff and the community we serve, we have implemented social distancing models and can see a limited number of clients at one time on-site at the Food Bank. To get help with applications on-site, please call our hotline to make an appointment first at 855-366-3401.
