Emergency Drills & Safety Information
Lockdown Drill: SMS will be conducting a lockdown drill on October 14, from 8:40 a.m.to approximately 9:00 a.m. Please be aware that if you need to drop off or pick-up a student during the drill, no one will be allowed to enter or exit the building until the drill is completed. Also, if you are in our school during this drill you will be asked to comply with the drill until its conclusion. These drills are held three times a year and help ensure that students and staff are clear what to do in an emergency situation. For more information on lockdown drills and other aspects of our Standard Response Protocol (SRP), please see the September 17 District Update, found here.
Great Oregon Shake-Out: Our district will participate in the “Great Oregon ShakeOut” earthquake drill on Thursday, October 21st at 10:21 a.m. Here is the link to the “Shake Out” web page, which provides valuable resources for students, staff and parents. Please keep this date and time in mind should you need to pick up or drop off your student.
SafeOregon Tip Line: The District is enrolled in the SafeOregon Tip Line program. The SafeOregon program allows students, staff, and members of the public to anonymously report harmful or potentially harmful behavior against other students, staff, or school site. There are five ways to report tips: online at www.safeoregon.com, call or text to 844-472-3367, email to tip@safeoregon.com or via the SafeOregon mobile app.

Scholastic Reading Club: Ordering books using Scholastic helps the Archer library! Orders are placed on or before the third Friday of each month, September through May (with the exceptions of December). Place your order online or by using the flyer and a check. PLEASE NO CASH. Turn flyer orders into the library. To place an order online, sign in and/or register at: https://clubs2.scholastic.com/. For first-time orders, enter our school's/class activation code: GX3NZ. With each order, your child receives a prize and a free book. Your purchase earns the library points to buy new books for its collection.
SHS Football Announcement: For the high school football games, the area in the NW corner of the stadium in front of the terraced turf steps has been designated as the location for middle school students to gather if they are not sitting in the stands with their parents. As with all spectators, middle school students must wear a mask if they are not consistently maintaining six feet of distance from other people. Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe at the game.
