Take A Peek At Our Week
International Dot Day
On September 15th, Evergreen students had the opportunity to celebrate the book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. The Dot is a wonderful story of a caring teacher who assists a student in trusting their own ability to be brave and "make their mark." This is a beautifully written story and has a message that we want all of our Evergreen Eagles to take to heart!
Fire Drill This Week
We will have a fire drill with the Carol Stream Fire Department on Thursday this week. The students have been practicing what to do with their classes since school began in August. We will continue to review and practice this throughout the year.
Lock and Teach Drill This Week
On Tuesday, students will participate in a lock and teach drill. This is when the teacher closes and locks their door and continues teaching. A Lock & Teach schedule is used to clear the halls. This could be for a medical emergency, or a situation we do not want children to witness. It is a way to account for all our students and to keep them in eye contact without disrupting teaching and learning.
