Reflecting with "Golden Lines"
In Ms. Kopcha’s CP English 11 class, students explored “golden lines” from their own previous writing samples. Students wrote their golden line on the whiteboard. During their next writing session students selected a word from the board and wrote about what that word meant to them, or could mean to someone else. It is great to see students participating in meaningful reflections.
Spanish Students Spread Holiday Cheer
For the first half of class, Spanish 3 students got to enjoy a fiesta! When they were done celebrating, Senora Huffer-Mendoza gave tips on how to write a letter to help with their assignment. Students worked on sending Christmas letters to veterans by decorating cards and writing nice notes. They are spreading that holiday cheer!
You might have noticed a new decal on one of the pumps at the Williamsburg BP! In a partnership with Colonial Oil and Williamsburg BP, we have started the Burg Schools Community Pump program. Starting December 1, all gas sold through pumps #5 and #6 at Williamsburg BP will result in the school district receiving a donation of one cent per gallon. Our students will benefit from these funds that will be used for special events, reward/incentive programs, and field trip sponsorships. All you have to do is go to Williamsburg BP, use pump #5 or #6 (look for the Burg Schools logo), and purchase your gas like normal!
