News in the Community!
Check out this summer Math Game Night opportunity at the Math Science Center.
As everyone is gearing up for summer we wanted to share some important information with you regarding technology. Students will have the opportunity to take iPad devices, for elementary above 3rd grade and middle school students, and MacBook Air devices, for high school students, home for the summer. For the past two summers, students have brought their devices home which has been successful for both summer programming and starting the school year as smoothly as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about this process please feel free to reach out to the principal at your child’s school. Please make sure that your student brings their device with them on the first day of school.
If your child is a rising 6th or 9th grader they will receive a new device the first week of school. These students will turn in their existing iPad and will need to bring in their cable and charging block as well in order to get their new device.
If you encounter any technical issues during the summer, we will be open during the summer and can schedule repairs. We also want to remind you that we can be reached by email at techhelp@glnd.k12.va.us (or call 804-556-5630) if you have any questions about your child’s technology or run into any problems. Also remember that we employ a content filtering system on all student devices that will remain active year-round. If you have any questions about our filtering system or ever encounter an issue with access to content, we encourage you to let us know and we will investigate and respond appropriately.
