WHS Summer Updates

Dear students and parents/guardians:

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! Here at the high school, we are working hard to create schedules for the 2023/2024 school year. Those schedules should be out in early/mid August. We will alert you when they are available on your X2 Aspen accounts.

If you pass by the high school, you may see that we are replacing the brick on the front retaining walls, which had disintegrated badly over the years. This, along with other work, will be completed before school starts.

Below, please see a few pertinent announcements. More information will be made available as the summer progresses. In the meantime, have fun and stay safe!

We would like to welcome Dr. Kristina Kelleher-Bianchi as our new Assistant Principal, working with students with last names A-J. She previously was an administrator at the Burke High School in Dorchester for the last four years. Before that she taught History, ESL, and Special Education for ten years in the Boston Public Schools and earned her National Board Certification. She grew up in Attleboro and attended Attleboro High School. She went to college at Brown University where she acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Economics, and Public Policy. She also has a Master's Degree in Education from Boston University and a Master's of Arts in History from University of Massachusetts - Boston. She earned a PhD at UMass Boston in Urban Education, Leadership, and Policy Studies in 2020. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, watching TV, learning more history, and traveling with her husband, who is also an educator. We look forward to having Kristina join us at Walpole High!

All Freshmen are invited to attend a Freshman Orientation to be held on Tuesday, August 29th, 8:30AM – 11:00AM. (See Schedule attached). We will meet in the Auditorium. Students will follow their schedule and meet their homeroom teacher, all eight of their subject teachers, and their school counselor. The Orientation will end with an Activity Fair. Snacks will be provided. We look forward to meeting the Class of 2027!

9th grade Summer Math

Students are expected to read one book from the Summer Reading List. They will meet in the fall in book groups to discuss their summer reading book. Students should use this form to enter their selected book.

  • Please pay attention to the directions. This is a 2 part process, and both parts must be complete for your application to be considered complete

  • Students cannot be on this list if they want to enter the parking lottery or begin sports/activities
• Class Dues Information
  • There have been updates to this deadline
• Yearbook information and deadlines

Students will have full access to all linked forms and documents. Parents/guardians will not have access to these items but will be able to see all deadlines and expectations for students.

CLASS OF 2024 SITE

Please drop physicals off in the main office and please put the sport your son/daughter will be playing on it. Please do not scan physicals. Please make sure your student has completed their concussion and impact testing prior to tryouts. This information can be found on the Athletic Website. If you have any questions please reach out.
