The GENERALS' MARCH!
Goal: To encourage healthy habits and raise money for technology and literacy materials.
Date of the Event: Thursday, April 30th (Each class will be out of class for 40-45 minutes. The total amount of time spent walking is 20 minutes, students will also spend time stretching, and enjoying a small snack and water)
*We will have a kick-off assembly to introduce the event and share fundraising/donation sheets on March 30th, at 9am in Community Room
Location of Event: Field/Green space behind school. We are contacting Dave's Running to see if they can be involved with marking the field/route.
Misc. Details:
*Every student (Pk-4) will receive a FREE Generals' March t-shirt to wear for the event. The shirts will advertise the businesses that are sponsoring us.
*Students will seek donations for the walk that can be made through an online donation site, cash, or check that will be turned into the office.- this won't start until March 30th.
*We are beginning to seek businesses to sponsor us. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Sweet Retreat is our first business that has already committed to sponsoring us!

Join the NASA STEM Educator Professional Development Collaborative at Texas State University for a free 60-minute webinar. Explore NASA’s newly released “Sound Effects” activity, which teaches students about the principles of sound, specifically how to amplify and reduce volume. Learn how students can construct a speaker to amplify sound, and then figure out how to reduce the perceived sound volume. Review the history of X-planes and NASA aeronautical research, and learn about the future of NASA aeronautics innovation.Online registration is required.

*The Board recently made a change to the 2019-20 school calendar. Tuesday March 17 is now a Professional Day for staff, with no school for students. Tuesday May 5 is now a regular school day.
