At Central Elementary we BELIEVE in the power of literacy! The more proficient our students are at reading, comprehending, and applying their knowledge, the more opportunites for growth and learning they will have for a lifetime! As an elementary campus our youngest students are learning how to read, our older students are reading to learn new things, and all of our students are encouraged to become life long learners.
With that in mind, we are excited to host our annual Read-a-Thon fundraiser! The top priority of this fundraiser is to facilitate and encourage litreacy within our community! We want to acknowledge and celebrate students reading in all forms. On their own, with friends and family, even being read to by others. Funds raised through our Read-a-Thon will be spent on....wait for it.... books for our students! In the past year we have gifted over $5,000 worth of books to our students, and we hope to double that in the next year. We believe in the power of literacy and invite our community to join us! Let's support life long learning through literacy by putting books in the hands of our children!
