Turkey Trot & Fall Carnival!!!
IT'S THIS COMING WEEKEND!!!
The Turkey Trot and carnival are free events for the families of our Shady Grove community; just bring a canned good for entry! There will be games, bouncy houses, a petting zoo, a book walk, face painting, snacks, and more! We need your help to make this a memorable event for your child! We’re asking for prize donations (candy, stickers, pencils, temporary tattoos, party favors, etc).
UPDATE: There will also be pony rides and a petting zoo (courtesy of SGE PTO)! The Chic-Fil-A cow will be there too with coupons to give away!
Help get the word out!
STRIVE for 95!
98 is GRRRRRRREAT!!!!
ADA stands for Average Daily Attendance. Average Daily Attendance is defined as the total days of student attendance divided by the total days of instruction. Check out SGE's ADA trends in the chart above.
We're going to "STRIVE FOR 95!" while also knowing that "98 IS Great!" We recognize that illnesses and events take place that necesitate absences, however, we do encourage every student to be in school every day he/she is able. Let's work for 98!
Good attendance is connected to increased reading proficiency, increased academic performance, and fewer behavior issues. Every day counts! Every minute counts too...
The state of Texas requires 75,600 instructional minutes per school year. We want students in their seat for as many minutes of the instructional day as possible. Teachers have so much to teach and students have so much to learn between the 7:40 and 3:20 bells. Again, we recognize that events arise that necessitate a late arrival or early check-out, but avoiding a pattern of tardies and early check-outs is helpful to the student AND the teacher!
If your student is arriving after the 7:45 tardy bell, PLEASE WALK HIM/HER INSIDE THE BUILDING.
World's Finest Chocolate Prizes coming Soon!
Prizes have been ordered and are expected to arrive the week of November 14th. Prizes will be distributed, drawings will be held, and the top seller will be announced that week!
Student Badges on Backpacks
Please help your child keep his/her school issued student badge attached to the backpack, and that the backpack comes to school every day. Badges are used during breakfast for meals. They also help with campus safety.
Names in Outerwear!
