Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 2 Issue 15- 12/03/23
Greetings Clipper Nation!
As sports and winter performances occur this month, please review the weekly bulletin. Come out and enjoy our students in action as they show off their talents.
I know it seems like the first term just ended, but progress reports are just around the corner. Teachers will submit grades on the 11th, and progress reports will go live on the 13th. Be sure to visit the family portal or download the county app to stay current on your student's grades.
This year, we will again do school spirit days, the last 12 days before winter break. Be sure to check out the days and themes below.
Parents and guardians of seniors, to stay current, check out the Senior section in the newsletter specifically for senior information. Right now, two critical items for seniors are ensuring they get a senior picture taken and submitted to the school and being aware of college application deadlines. They must submit a senior picture to appear in the yearbook. We offer a school-based opportunity for any senior who has yet to get their senior portraits done. Please see senior section for more details. Seniors also need to remember that teachers and counselors are off during the winter break, so for any college deadlines that fall between December 20th and January 5th, the deadline to notify counselors for submission is December 6th. If you decide to wait, it could mean you won't get your college of choice.

Seniors (Class of 2024)
College Essay Support for Seniors:
We have good news for seniors who are working on their college essays! Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are ready to review your college essays and provide feedback starting on Monday, October 2 – Sunday, December 31.
Here’s how it works:
You will need to email either Mrs. Taylor or Ms. Cahall (both are JMB English teachers) letting them know you would like them to review your essay. They will add you in on the assignment on Google Classroom where all communication about your essay will occur. At that point, you will upload your essay, the writing prompt or question that you are responding to along with any questions or comments about the essay you have sent.
Contact information for Participating JMB Teachers:
Mrs. Chelsea Taylor: chtaylor@wcboe.org
Ms. Jennifer Cahall: jcahall@wcboe.org
Of course, if there is another teacher you would like to review your essays you are welcome to contact them, but Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are the teachers that are part of this project. They are looking forward to reading your essays and supporting you through this process!

Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school.
