TK/KINDER's first IN person day is Monday March 22nd:) We had a small orientation to show students how to get to their classrooms and the bathrooms. The students were SO excited and a little nervous to be on campus:) I know there is a lot of annexed and worry for some of us...but honestly when you see those big, bright, smiling EYES.... it ALL goes away.

PLEASE let parents know if they have multiple children- their older child/ren MAY be dropped off and Picked up at their younger sibling's spot. For example; if a 3rd grader has a kinder brother, she may be dropped off at the kinder location, enter campus from the kinder drop off, turn counterclockwise and then walk to her class. After school she may also walk counterclockwise until she reaches the kinder area and stand with kinder until picked up.

Please MAINTAIN 6 feet apart from one another. It is imperative we are NOT congregating in the office or the staff lounge or even outside. PLEASE PLEASE maintain 6ft away from one another. We have moved copier machines from the Parent Room- (Casey and Trevor's office now) to the library. Also please remember the Character Coaches will be monitoring the bathrooms and giving teacher bathroom breaks so they will NOT have as much time to make copies/packets/organize/pass out items. They will help out AS MUCH as they can:)

*******ON THAT NOTE- if you are scheduling a packet pick -up- please make it AFTER 11:00 am to make sure all the In-Person kids are gone:)

I wanted to get this out right away...so 5th grade teachers CAN take it with their students this week. We have until May 3rd BUT please do not wait until the last minute. We have started to do some ABAR work at Nelda Mundy which I am very proud of. Unfortunately at the last staff meeting, with our focus on Returning to In Person Learning we did not have the opportunity to discuss the recent increase of acts of racism and violent attacks targeting Asian- American and Pacific Islanders across the Bay Area And Nation. These attacks are inevitably creating fear and anxiety in our families and community. It is imperative that our staff, families and community know that Nelda Mundy is a safe, welcoming environment that does NOT only NOT tolerate any acts of racist behavior but is proactive in preventing racists behavior. I have seen the SAFE communities many of you have built with your class even through distance learning. It is OFTEN the classroom teacher a student will reach out to when confused and or hurt by racist behavior. I wanted to share a few videos/lessons that you may watch/use IF you would like to:)

The April Staff meeting will be on April 13th vs April 6th since we will be on SPRING BREAK on April 6th.
