Catch the inside scoop on what's happening in our class!
Last week
On Monday, scholars started the week off with celebrating their achievement of making dean's list for the week and students who did not make it made goals for the remainder week. Those students who made dean's list were Abi, Amanda, Amaya, Catherine, Desi, Jamari, Jo Yee, Leilany, Nazear, Nyliah, Precious, Simone, Vanyh, Zayah and Ziyah. Congratulations! 💪
On Tuesday we wrapped up our first unit: African Kingdoms, with google slides presentations using knowledge they've gathered throughout the this unit. Presentations were exceptional and students put a lot of thought, effort and pride into their work shown below. Nice Presentations everyone! 💻
To end the unit off, students were tested on the skills they've learned. 📝Wednesday, they were tested on their essay writing skills and Thursday they were tested on their multiple choice strategies. With the test being their very first official test for their middle school year, anxieties were heighten but every student overcame their fear. 👏 On Wednesday, we also awarded our new stole of the week, Kyron Yvon for such tremendous growth in self confidence and his hard work habits. Go Kyron! 🤝
After a day on testing on Thursday, we followed it up with a huge celebration for the huge transition into middle school. Students had an amazing time choosing between chicken and steak and games, movies or sports. We had a blast! 🏈🎮🎴🍗🍛
We ended off the week with a pizza and ice cream social on Friday to celebrate the hard work students used to complete their summer lifework. 🍦🍕 We also started our new ELA unit, short stories.
