School is almost here! It has been wonderful seeing students at our Marching Band Camp, as well as the sports practices. We are excited to see ALL of our students on August 30th! This week's newsletter has an SOS section seeking support for one of our students that was in a recent accident. Anything we can do to support them and their family will be greatly appreciated. Other sections of the newsletter cover upcoming events, as well as handy links for the beginning of the school year.

Our Special Education Services team has been working hard to prepare for the first days of school. Please feel free to reach out to Assistant Principal Margaret Hayward if you have any questions about schedules, plans, etc. at mhayward@svuvt.org.

Wednesday, August 30th, will be the first day of school for ALL FHUMHS students. Student schedules will be available on PowerSchool beforehand (please email bworthing@svuvt.org if you need help with the login). We will also supply hardcopy schedules for students, as needed. Students may begin arriving at 7:45 am. High school students will report to the gym at 8:10 am for our opening assembly. HERE is the first-day schedule for grades 9-12.

Students are dismissed from school at 3:15 pm. HERE is the traffic pattern for drop-off and pick-up (Please do not come down Mechanic Street. Parent drop-off and pick-up are on Pine Street only).

Please join us for an Athletic informational meeting starting at 5:30 pm in the high school gymnasium. Useful information will be shared by Ben Worthing and Kim Alexander, Slate Valley Athletic Director, regarding games, practices, communication, and more.

All FHUMHS students will have their school pictures taken on September 1st. The picture packet was sent in the summer mailing.

SENIORS will have their class photo taken at 8:00 AM. This is mandatory and will not be retaken if students are missing from the picture.

The high school will be holding its Open House on September 28th at 5:45 pm (the middle school Open House is on August 28th). We will be serving cider and donuts starting at 5:30 pm. Families will go through their child's schedule starting at 5:45 pm.

FHUMHS will hold evening conferences on November 8th, and afternoon conferences on November 9th. Sign-up information will be shared in October. While we love in-person conferences, we are happy to accommodate virtual meetings as well!
