Hello Cowboy Families,

We are excited to begin another amazing school year here at the Ridge! We look forward to partnering with you this school year and are committed to ensuring the success of our Cowboys. We know you probably have many questions about back to school. We are hoping this newsletter will help answer some of your questions. We are looking forward to greeting you all at our Open House on August 25 from 4-7pm. We are excited to welcome you into our school family. We are excited to welcome Ms. Kaylee Kramer to our Hickory Ridge family as our new Assistant Principal, replacing Mrs. Raney who is now the principal at Charles E. Boger Elementary in Cabarrus County. Ms. Kramer is coming to us from Craven County. Please join us in welcoming her to our family.

We are excited to welcome you on during Open House to come in and meet your child's teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.

You are welcome to park in the main parking lot or in the bus parking lot for open house. You can enter the building through the main entrance or through the bus lot entrance.

We are excited to welcome our staff back to school this week. We know you are all excited to find out who your child's teacher will be for the upcoming school year. We appreciate your patience as our teachers are working hard to prepare for an amazing school year with our Cowboys. Your child's teacher will contact you between Thursday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 24 to introduce themselves and welcome you to their classroom. They will make contact with you by the end of the day Wednesday, August 24. Thank you so much for your patience with us as you wait to hear from your child's teacher.

Please see the costs for school breakfast and lunch for the 2022-2023 school year. As a reminder, the federal grant that allowed all students to eat breakfast and lunch for free at school last year has ended. You can log into the K12 Payment Center to add money on to your student's account for meals or stop by the cafeteria during open house to do so.

Calling all future Kinder Cowboys! We are excited to welcome you to the Hickory Ridge Elementary family. Please visit the link below for information on registering your rising Kindergartener if you have not already done so already.

We are so thankful for the fundraising efforts of our community and PTO this past school year. We have a brand new walking track and swing set located out on the field for our Cowboys to play on this year. Thank you so much for your help with funding this. We are looking forward to continuing to add more to the playground on the field through our PTO fundraising efforts this school year. We appreciate your support!
