NMS Parent Update
January 5, 2024
Happy New Year!! Everyone at Norwich Middle School is looking forward to an amazing year of learning and growing. Thank you for your continued support of your student and our school community!!
Check out what is happening at NMS!!
MLK Weekend
Dr. King wrote, spoke, marched, and stood up for what he believed in. What is unique about MLK Day compared to other federal holidays is that it is the only holiday designated as a national day of service. MLK Day not only honors the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but it encourages all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
How can you make a difference this year on MLK Day?
Lost and Found is getting full - make sure to check it regularly

Notes from the Nurse's Office
Please advise your student that prior to calling home for an “illness” they must report to the nurse’s office to be evaluated. Student’s may not be dismissed for an illness before checking in with the nurse. After evaluation the nurse will then call the caregiver with the student to discuss further plans for pickup or other “illness” needs. If pick-up is required or needed the nurse will write them a pass to be excused and they will wait in the nurse’s office until their ride arrives. Once you arrive to pick your student up, please report to the office. Office personnel will then call the nurse’s and at that time your student will be excused and will need to sign out in the office with the reason why they are leaving. Any other reasons outside of “illnesses” requiring pickup or early dismissal should be communicated with the main office directly. Thank you for your assistance and understanding-this is for everyone’s safety and awareness.
DONATIONS NEEDED IN NURSES OFFICE
There have been specific student needs for like brand new leggings, sweatpants, and sweatshirts for girls. Sizes Small to Large in Women’s. Also needed are Men’s Small to Large T-shirts and Athletic shorts.
Character Strong Corner
Each Family CharacterDare offers families the opportunity to engage in challenges designed to increase connection and conversation at home. These CharacterDare challenges also provide students with more opportunities to practice habits discussed in class.
