An Important Message for all Caregivers
Dear Caregivers,
We wanted to discuss a topic relevant to our student's health and safety: vaping.
Vaping has become increasingly popular among young people, and we must educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of this activity. Using e-cigarettes, also known as vaping, can seriously harm our children's health.
As part of this initiative, we have partnered with Drug-Free Chenango and Braderick Morrison, the Chenango County Tobacco Free Coordinator, who came in to talk with 6th, 7th & 8th-grade students this month. Braderick was representing Reality Check. Reality Check is a youth-led movement in New York State that empowers youth to become leaders in their communities by exposing what they see as the tobacco industry's manipulative and deceptive marketing tactics. The organization’s community members produce changes through grassroots mobilization and education. Reality Check’s approach includes engaging youth as leaders and activists in the movement against tobacco use and the tobacco industry, educating communities members and leaders about the manipulative marketing tactics of tobacco companies, engaging the community leaders in support of the community against tobacco and the tobacco industry, develops media relationships and work to garner earned media, utilizes the youth’s voice to demand societal support to hold the tobacco industry accountable for its actions, and contributes to the advancement and growth of a youth action movement against the tobacco industry.
In future newsletters, we will share facts about vaping and signs of vaping, and resources to help quit. Please do not hesitate to contact us for support. We are committed to working with caregivers to help keep our students safe and healthy. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.

Memorial Day Weekend Extended
We hope everyone has a great extended weekend, and we remember why we have the days off, in honor of those who have given all for us. Please take any opportunity to honor those who have given everything for our freedoms.
Attendance Matters
May and June are like the final bosses of the school year for middle school students. Just when you think you've made it through all the levels, these months sneak up on you with their last-minute assignments, final exams, and projects. Showing up to school and being present in class is crucial during this time because students do not want to miss a thing. It’s not much longer until the year has ended and summer will be upon us. We want to make the most of our time together over the next few weeks. Show up every day!
7th Grade Year End Trip - Date Change
