Middle School Update

Good Morning Norwich Families,

It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the end of the first marking period already. Friday, November 17th, is the final day of the quarter. We want to remind you to check your SchoolTool Parent Portal for current information about your child’s academic status. If you do not have a SchoolTool Parent Portal account, please contact your school’s main office to request one. Another option is to have your child log into their student SchoolTool account to show you their current grades and assignments for each course.

We strongly encourage caregivers to continue having check-in conversations with their child regarding the importance of completing work, as well as reaching out to teachers for assistance if needed. With dedication, effort and support, we can help students be successful in their work. Should you have any questions regarding specific grades or coursework, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher to discuss.

In addition to report cards, all families will receive attendance reports mailed home as well. Student attendance is directly correlated to academic achievement, development, and engagement. While the occasional absences due to illness, family emergencies, and unforeseen circumstances are to be expected, we at Norwich want to ensure our students experience success. Each absence is a missed opportunity for learning and can negatively impact progress. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support and partnership!
