Administrator Message

It has been a great first month of school! Teachers are connecting with students as we create a Sense of Belonging. Students are encouraged to use Academic Discourse during reading as a manner of supporting students' critical thinking, reflection, and participation. This month, teachers are focusing on Active Participation from students in all content areas. There is a lot of learning going on at Oak Hill!


Have your children told you about The Wheel? Our students are enjoying their ukulele, drama, STEM, art, and photography classes. By the end of the year, every student will have participated in each one of these classes. We have the best Wheel Teachers! Ask your children what class they get to be in for this first rotation.


We have a lot of firsts this week. Please join us at any one of our meetings. Our first English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is this Tuesday at 8:15-8:45am. Come learn about how we support our English Learners. Our first Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting is this Wednesday 5:00-6:00pm in our school MPR. Everyone is welcome!


Our first School Site Council (SSC) meeting is this Wednesday from 3:00-4:00pm. The Council is made up of school personnel as well as community members. Please VOTE TODAY for community members to serve on the Oak Hill SSC. Click Here to vote.

Latino Literacy - There is still room

Latino Literacy is a 10 week program where parents practice vocabulary words, read bilingual books and take the books home to read as a family. We analyze 1 book every week. If you are interested, please email Mr. Erick at eberber@eusd.org.

Early Dismissal & Late Pick Up Policy

Early Dismissal
If you need to pick up your child early from school please bring your photo ID. Photo IDs are required in order to release your child to you. Student will be called to the front office once the parent arrives at the office.


If a parent or guardian sends another adult to pick up their student, the parent must notify the office in advance.


Late Pick Up

Students who are picked up 20 minutes after dismissal (2:50pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and 12:35pm on Thursdays) will need to bring their photo ID to the office and sign their student out.

Parent Teacher Conferences (Week of 10/2 - 10/6)

Parent / Teacher conferences are approaching quickly. Work with your student's teacher to schedule your conference. Please let them know if you need translation.

GATE Screening Coming Soon

The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in the front office after September 25 and should return it to the school by Friday, October 13. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by the school office.
