Hi Pre-K Families!

We love our names! We are learning to recognize and write our names! We learned that our name begins with a capital letter and the rest are lowercase. Practice recognizing and writing your name at home.


Remember- Our school Day starts at 7:20 and Ends at 3:00. Attendance is very important. Please make sure your child is at school every day unless they are sick.


Please remember to check your child's orange folder and take out any papers sent home. As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Theme: My School and Me

Week 3: My Senses



Our senses are our door to the world. All that we know and understand comes from experiences we explore with our senses. This week, children will learn about the role their senses play in learning and in their ability to enjoy the world around them.


Thematic: Senses are tools our bodies use to gather information.


Literacy: Each letter can be identified by it's unique name and shape.


Reading: Back to School books! Our Senses Keep Us Safe and My Backyard and My Senses.


Math: Objects can be described and sorted by attributes ( color,shape, size).


Science: The Weather changes with seasons.

Breakfast in Pre K!

Breakfast will be served at 7:20 in our classroom. We like to start our instruction at 7:45. If you have any questions about breakfast at school please email your teacher!

Join Dove PTA!

The mission of the PTA is threefold:

To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before government agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.

A few reminders for our Pre-K families

A few reminders-

-Bring a water bottle/Snack each day

-Please pack an extra change of clothing in their backpack

-Please check their orange daily folder and initial it each day. Please remove any items that are to be kept at home.

-Please label all of their belongings!! This helps us so much.

-Please have your child wear sneakers or closed toe shoes because we are very active outside and in PE.

- If there is a change in your child's dismissal, please let us know and the office know! We are very busy during the day and cannot always check our email. Please notify the front office of any changes.

-Our conference period is from 12:25-11:10. Please feel free to reach out to us during that time to communicate any concerns you may have.

-Please bring your dismissal tag in the afternoon when you pick up your child. We are finding that more and more Pre-K families are leaving them at home. These are imperative to a safe and secure dismissal system. This is extremely important! If you need a new dismissal tag, please let us know.

Rachel McFarling- Pre-K Teacher

I've been teaching Pre-K for 5 years and going into my 6th year. My husband and I have a daughter named Maddie who is in 2st grade and a baby boy named Charlie who is nearing closer to 2 year old! We live in Flower Mound, TX. I am so excited to teach your child this year!

Kristin Barton- Pre-K Teacher

I've been teaching for 21 years. I have a B.S and a M.ED in Early Childhood Education. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and also have a degree in Criminal Justice. We recently moved to Colleyville from Owego, NY where I was an educator. I have taught First Grade, Kindergarten and my favorite, Pre-K! My husband who is a huge Cowboy's fan was transferred here with Lockheed Martin. We have two children David (West Virginia University Grad.) and Victoria (Penn State Grad.) who are grown up.

Suzanne Pruitt-Para

My name is Suzanne Pruitt and I am Mrs. McFarling's Instructional Assistant. I have been in education for over 30 years teaching in public and private school.

My husband, Kirk, and I have been married 34 years and live in Bedford,Texas. Our daughter Molly and her husband, Addison, will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary in October.

I love gardening,reading, and laying out at the beach or by the pool.

My name is Sreevidya (Mrs. V) and I am happy and grateful. I believe in myself. I love my Pre-K kiddos. They are sweet hearts. I love watching movies with my family and I love cooking. I am the Paraprofessional in Mrs. Barton's class.

Hi my name is McKenzie Martin. This is my fifth year in education. When I am not working, I am spending time with my dog Annabelle or trying new coffee shops. I grew up in Grapevine and love the area! I am so excited to be at Dove!

Mrs. Jimenez - ECSE Para

Hi! My name is Mrs. Jimenez and I'm proud to be a Dove Dolphin. I'm from Laredo, Texas and live in Saginaw, TX with my husband, and my sons Jeremy and Julian who is a proud First Grade Dolphin.

This is my 3nd year as an ECSE teacher's assistant. I have a true passion for working with our youngest learners. I look forward to working together with you as partners in your child’s growth and development!
